Hey, I’m Pierron!

Welcome to my kitchen,
I’m so glad you’ve found
your way here.

Sit back, relax, read and cook on!

Hi, I'm Pierron! Welcome to my kitchen. This blog started in 2020 during the great lock down as a way to document my kitchen escapades. I won't bore you with stories about how much I love food or family recipes begging to be shared, but I will tell you that cooking has been in my blood for as long as I can remember. Whether I was burning pots as a seven-year-old or kneading my first pizza dough as a 24 year old, cooking has always been a part of me.

For the last ten years I have worked in banking, but, like for so many people, 2020 gave me some time to reflect and reassess. That reflection was all about reconnecting with myself and who I am. It also turned out to be an opportunity to finally come full circle and realize that no matter where I go, it always comes back to the food.

:If you know someone's food then you know them."

“When I’m not in the kitchen, you can find me with my dog Mochi, doing yoga or at the farmers market!”

Food is a transformer, an epiphany in disguise. Darn I did not want to get all punny with this. If you read the book Like Water for Chocolate, (or just watched the movie) then you understand what a powerful symbol food can be. If you have not read the book, please do. It's a gooder. Some might even say it’s a classic. But what’s important is the lesson that as you learn how to cook, taste and understand someone's dishes, you can’t help but be transformed
.
You see, food connects us all no matter our background or social status.

Food can also  transport us to new worlds. Never been to Peru? Learn to cook some ceviche, Aji de Gallina or — if you’re feeling adventurous —  Cuy, or even lomo saltado and you might just have a better idea of how it feels to hike the Inca trail or walk the streets of San pedro market.
That is what I want to do with this blog: explore the foods, cultures, and stories of the world. My goal for Pierro’s KTCHN is to create an interconnected community of food lovers all across this tiny blue rock hurtling it’s way through the Milky Way. A safe place to share cultures and stories as we learn about each other's food.
Step into my kitchen, try new recipes, experiment with cultural fusions, and discover a place to learn, share and connect, all the while exploring the cultures of our beautiful planet.

Whether you have a question about a recipe or you’re interested in working together, let’s chat.
